Barbár is the flagship of our wines, which we only create in great vintages. Our 2019 wines bring the Szekszárd-typical, ripe, likeable character, and we feel it is a top vintage in quantity and quality.

The new Barbar will be presented in its hometown at Heimann Birtokbisztró! On the occasion of Martin's Day, we invite you to two Barbár evenings to taste the best autumn flavours in a pleasant, friendly atmosphere. The menu has been matched to the wines together with our chef Egon Kopis, and as the host, we are waiting for you with lots of stories on the wines, so that by the end of the evening we can say: I became a BARBÁR at Heimann's!

WE'RE OPENING A COSY BISTRO IN SZEKSZÁRD

The top of Ivan-völgy is a cosy place. Wine cellar and Ági's garden live side by side. And now the Birtokbisztró, as well.

Food and wine take part in a conversation. Kadarka and zakouska. Barbár and venison saddle, Esterházy-style. Kékfrankos and the Black Forest tartelette.

In our cuisine we combine the Transylvanian culture of our chef Egon Kopis with Swabian traditions of Szekszárd. Ildi's confectionery skills also found their home.

The Cultivated Alcoholic
about Barbár 2018

Piquant, spicy (...). Black olives, violets, blueberries, plums, bay leaves, tobacco - a unique and varied fragrance. Barrel barely perceptible. Tasted, surprisingly good acidity, uncovered, juicy, not drying tannins. The core of the palate is sweet, but it's just the sweetness of the ripe fruit, it doesn't detract from the freshness. Long finish with cherry, plum and a touch of savoury tartness. A medium amount of high quality tannin, not astringent but not velvety or sweet either.
